For any person in need he was approachable. His proximity to the high offices and closeness to the masses made him much sought after. He would happily accompany anyone to any office to resolve problems and would be satisfied by the smile and thankful gesture they give back. He was a staunch supporter of Indian National Congress and would work dedicatedly for the success of its candidate : but could seldom see himself offering his candidature. His passion towards the party and commitment towards the masses had given him the nick name “MLA VACKACHAN” among his friends. His usual mode of conveyance was the public transport which enabled him to keep contact with the people around.
